What is the ELC Scheme?
The Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme or ELC is an initiative to promote amongst members of the Armed Forces. The ELC scheme provides financial support in the form of a single up-front payment in each of a maximum of three separate financial years. It is worth mentioning at this stage that ELC funding is only available for courses that result in a Nationally Recognised Qualification at level three (e.g. A level) or above on the National Qualification Framework (i.e. MCSE, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or level six or above (NVQ level 3+) on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework. How do I qualify?

• You must make a personal contribution of at least 20% towards the total course cost ELCAS will pay the rest.
• Length of service required and claim limits:
• Before being allowed to make an ELC claim at the lower level (currently up to £1,000), an individual must have at least 4 years service. A claim at the higher rate (currently up to £2,000), require 8 completed years service.
• This service period must be complete before you can start training for which ELC's will be claimed, and the latest date for making a claim is 10 years after leaving the Services
